If we eliminated the socially crippling (and family enslaving) welfare state and allowed school choice to bring competition (and therefore quality improvements) to the school system, this country would have more money in the government than we know what to do with. Our national debt could actually be paid off and this society would thrive like we have never seen in our life times! The economy would be so good that basically no one would be without work who wanted to. Private charities would be so well funded by the thriving economy that we would not have a need for the horribly wasteful government welfare system.
