We are addicted to food, phones, alcohol, sex, drugs, etc. There is a much larger issue going on here. It is not the job of the government to "fight drug addiction". Giving the government the authority to try will only result in more corruption and more addicts. Government programs create more of what they are designed to eliminate. This is how they guarantee their budgets keep increasing. Addiction is a symptom of deeper issues. Our society is crumbling because we have turned away from truth and the source of truth, namely, God. Drugs should not be illegal. Drug users should not be classed as criminals. People need to know the truth and they need help from their communities. We spend all our lives pretending to be someone else on the internet and neglect the ones in our lives who really matter. Is it any wonder so many are turning to drugs and all manner of other addictions?
